I used to think I was scared of death. Or by facing death – by combat and action and the uncertainty of the battlefield. Not any more. No, now what scares me is the possibility that I live to grow old. I might wake up one day tired and wasted and unable to even open a beer. I might need crutches and a hearing aid and help getting dressed. When and if I get to that point, it'll be my memories that'll keep me going. The fact that I've lived through so much, survived so much, to get there. Do you want to get old? Do you want to end up with only your memories to make up for the loss of your faculties?

Martha: And what's his dabbling like?
Ianto: Innovative.. bordering on the avantgarde

Jack: So, you've been to rehab?
John: Rehabs, plural.
Jack: Drink, drugs,sex and..
John: Murder.
Jack: You went to murder rehab?
John: I know, the odd kill, who does it hurt?
Jack: All clean?
John: Yes, living like a priest (drinks half a bottle of spirits)

John: You live in a sculpture? Could you be more pretentious?
Jack: Get on.
John: Your team not allowed in this way?
Jack: This is the way for the tourists.
John: I remember the last time you said that.

Aaron Copley: Captain. Where did you park your boat?

Jack: Is Ianto moaning?
Gwen: Oh,yes.

Martha: This is Ianto Jones, the Welsh Ambassador. And his wife Gwen.
Guard: Mr Ambassador.
Martha: And this is Jack Harkness, the Ambassador's personal assistant.

Ianto: Everything we’ve seen, Torchwood, the wonder of the universe and we are going to die in a tunnel, in Switzerland.
Gwen: What did you imagine, the Bahamas?

Gwen: Ianto, listen, we are nearly out of here, look. According to the map the exit is close to the control room. That’s where Jack is, and coffee. You love coffee, coffee and Jack.

Jack: We could have used you an hour ago, for naked hide and seek.
Ianto: He cheats, he always cheats.
